You will need standard 4mm airline. (It comes with a short length of 13mm pipe to connect the manifold) How noisy / quiet is it? They are designed for performance rather than low sound levels they do make quite a loud hum so please consider this if noise is an issue. Note that the noise is reduced under load so please test under operating conditions. See our ET range of pumps for quieter operation. How long can it be run for / duty cycle? These pumps are designed for continuous use under normal conditions. As with any air pump you can prolong its life by balancing the output with a valve to release any excess pressure. Avoid running pumps with no load. Can I use it outside? They are not designed for use outside, but are often used in a weather / debris proof enclosure that is well ventilated for air-flow and heat dissipation. Please ensure any outdoor electrical appliance has adequate protection, check with an electrician if unsure. This range is not serviceable and does not require maintenance other than checking for anything that might cause problems such as debris and moisture. Always use one-way valves if the pump will ever be lower than the water level (on dry land) to prevent the water siphoning back to the pump. Use inline-valves to balance flow between multiple air stones and to relieve excess back-pressure on the pump. Avoid running the pump with no load or with all outputs closed.
